What to put on a contracting invoice
- Your business details: name, phone, email and, if you have one, your license or tax number.
- Who you’re billing: the client’s name and the job address.
- Each item on its own line, for example deposit (30%) ($1,500), drywall install ($850), painting (per room) ($450). Separate labor from materials so the client sees what they paid for.
- Tax, discount and total. Duebolt calculates these as you type.
- When and how to pay: a due date and your payment details (bank, Zelle, PayPal).
Tips to get paid faster
Send the invoice the same day you finish the job, before you leave the driveway if you can. Clear line items and a short due date (Net 7 or on receipt) get paid sooner than a single vague total.
With Duebolt Pro you can email a link instead of a file, see when the client opens it, and send a reminder in one tap.
